April 07, 2008 :: A LEEP of Faith
Dear Readership,
Apologies for dropping off the face of the Earth, first of all.
Second of all, I have no intention of discontinuing "My Boyfriend's Basement" at any time in the near future.
Unfortunately, some life events have occured in the past month and a half that've kept me away from doing a lot of things that are important to me. My GAD is now completely out of control, and on top of that I am having a procedure done to remove some "weird" cells on Friday from my unmentionables--which I am throughly freaked out about. Its been a tremendously hard time for myself, for Tris (who has had his own crop of problems pop up), for my family--for everyone.
We're still engaged, still in love, we'll get through this--but it has not been especially easy. Things are beginning to look up, but we won't be sure for awhile. A lot of my immediate future depends on how things go on Friday and what my doctor finds.
Anyway, I want to announce that while I'm sitting on my ass recovering from Friday (hooray recovery period) I am going to be producing the next storyline of "My Boyfriend's Basement". To take the pressure off, however, the next installment of MBB will not be going online until it is fully finished.
It will not be funny.
One of things I've tried to do is make MBB funny. Nothing has happened recently that could be described as "funny"--and so, MBB is taking a turn for the serious. A LEEP of Faith will chronicle life as its been for the past couple months. (LEEP is the name of the procedure I'm undergoing Friday.) The procedure itself is just a little scary, and once you get over the shock of being told you need to have parts of your cervix removed, its okay. What A LEEP of Faith will cover is all of the questions and possibilities discovering pre-cancerous abnormalities of the body bring up... how will it affect our ability to have children? What if the abnormality turns cancerous? What if there are complications? The big question: how do you deal with your concerns?
So, there it is. MBB is not going to die anytime soon. The funny will come back once all this gets resolved. And, in the meantime, I'm asking my readers to take A LEEP of Faith and bear with me. (Ohhh, sorry, bad pun.) :P
Love,
Tori (and Tris!)
February 21, 2008 :: Comic #056: G'night
Finally, we're finished with the "classy party" arc. Prepare yourselves for about a billion one-shots while I wait for something interesting to happen in real life.
Oh wait, I just got engaged. I suppose that's interesting?

February 18, 2008 :: Engaged!
If you can't figure out what happened from it, y'know, being ALL OVER THE PAGE... the ring is sparkly. One of my sorority sisters told me to wear gloves when I'm out in sunlight, otherwise people are going to be throwing lawsuits at me right and left, 'cause they'll be blinded. XD Tristan is pretty sparkly, too. Well, not sparkly, really, but pretty darn sweet nonetheless. <3
No, we don't know when. It's a current arguement. :)
And I swear I'll actually start drawing comics and not posting pictures... on Thursday. <3

February 14, 2008 :: Happy Valentine's Day!
I had this illustration all planned out, all nice-like, and then Tris got sick yesterday so I took care of him instead of spending time drawing it. (By "took care of him", I mean I sat on the bed and watched eighty billion episodes of Nadesico.) He's back at work today though, which means that laughter really is the best medicine. Seriously, Nadesico is an awesome show.
Happy Valentine's Day!

February 11, 2008 :: #054: Earning Your Keep
I am trying not to come down with the con plague. I fear I may be failing.
Tristan doesn't fold his laundry. If I don't do it... it doesn't happen. :)

January 31, 2008 :: Comic #052: Oh No They Didn't
Good news for you! I sat down yesterday and did four pages of MBB. So hopefully there won't be any more wonky and/or skipped updates for awhile.
Also, more good news for you! Not this weekend, but next weekend, the lovely cast and crew of MBB will be at A & G Ohio. We're hoping for a good time, and if you're in the area you should definitely come visit us!
See you Monday!
